About this page

Here is a selection of free information put together in a relatively quick, rough and ready way. This information is provided to anyone in the world who wish to get a feel for some of the most stable knowledge humankind has produced so far for the 21st century and beyond.

Why free information?

Well, why not? We don't last forever. However, we do know that the essential and stable knowledge will last forever while people exist and the technology is available to record this knowledge. And while the knowledge is available, there is no point in keeping it to ourselves. It must be passed on to everyone else.

At the same time there are people in the world who need access to free education, especially for those looking for a solution to their problems. As the Roman philosopher and former slave, Epictetus, once said:

"We must not believe the many, who say that only free people ought to be educated, but we should rather believe the philosophers who say that only the educated are free." (The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark. London: Headline Book Publishing, p.333.)

This brings us to an important point. Not all knowledge should be kept to a few people and expect everyone to pay for it (especially at exorbitant prices). Education is not a privilege that must be paid for all the time. If you want to truly help people for all times, you must share the essential and stable knowledge with others. And it should be accessible to everyone at the lowest cost (if not free) because eventually this is what will happen in the end. That is the great human legacy we must leave behind for anyone who wishes to achieve great things for others.

As for those seeking to find ways to help others, you would be wise to begin by helping yourself. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said:

"It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no person can sincerely try to help another without helping themselves."

And what better way there is to do this than through self-education.

The essential and stable knowledge, like the food we grow and eat and the air we breath, is an essential part of human life.

So happy reading...and learning! And most importantly, do not hesitate to put this knowledge into practice for the benefit of everyone around you.
