About this page

Here is a selection of the more stable knowledge humankind has produced for the 21st century and beyond. This knowledge is provided freely because as the Roman philosopher and former slave, Epictetus, once said:

"We must not believe the many, who say that only free people ought to be educated, but we should rather believe the philosophers who say that only the educated are free." (The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark. London: Headline Book Publishing, p.333.)

Knowledge should never be kept in the hands (or minds) of a few people. Education is not a privilege (2), nor should it be kept to ourselves. To truly help people for all times, you must share the knowledge with everyone. And it should be accessible to everyone freely (the eventual outcome for all knowledge). That is the great human legacy we must leave behind for anyone who wishes to achieve great things for others.

Like the food we grow and eat and the air we breath, knowledge of the stable and free kind is an essential part of human life.

So happy reading...and learning!
